Our vision is to make a responsive, flexible and entrepreneurial business unit available to small society and independent publishers, giving you access to the same kind of resources previously only available to large commercial publishers.
Our ambition is to provide a team of the best and most creative thinkers from within the publishing industry and blend these skills with the market expertise of small independent publishers to bring a new dynamic to the journals market.
Matrix is an ambitious idea – one that offers small independent publishers the opportunity to have a greater voice in the market as well as providing access to the skills and resources that are increasingly going to be required to maintain and develop revenues.
Matrix seeks to foster the natural strengths of small publishers – your close relationships with your community and ability to be agile and responsive – for your strategic advantage. We will work with you to apply entrepreneurial thinking to help you build on these opportunities.
Although a commercial organization ourselves, we respect and share the values of organizations with a scholarly mission. It is intended that in the future Matrix would invest a proportion of profits generated by the program back into the community – perhaps through the central development of technologies on behalf of all Matrix participants, or distributed as awards to organizations to help fund individual initiatives.
